Driving Under Suspension
A Fine of $1000 to $5000 for a first offence
If convicted, a license suspension of six months or more, fines up to $50,000, and increased insurance premiums for several years.

- $1,000.00 – $5,000.00 for a first offence.
- Mandatory Six (6) month Suspension.
- The offense is punishable by a term of imprisonment that does not exceed six months.
Driving while under suspension
If you are convicted of driving while your licence is suspended for an HTA offence:
- for a first offence a fine of $1,000 to $5,000
- for each subsequent offence a fine of $2,000 to $5,000 for a subsequent offence.
- (A subsequent offence is when you are convicted again within five years.)*

Seven-day vehicle impoundment applies to anyone caught driving with a suspended license for:
- Drivers who drive a vehicle while their license is suspended under the Highway Traffic Act
- Alcohol-Impaired driving offenses
- Drivers caught without a required ignition interlock
- Drivers caught with a BAC over .08, or who fail/refuse to comply with a demand made by a police officer under the Criminal Code of Canada
